51 Texas Holdem Tips And Strategies
Poker is a game that's constantly changing and evolving.
The strategies used by today's players differ greatly from the ones that were used just a few short years ago.
But, you can always count on Texas Hold'em tips to increase your winrate.
I did a lot of research and used my own experiences to create a list with over 50 top tips to help you elevate your game.
Please share these poker tips if you found them helpful.
#1 Poker At The Right Times
Ok, so this might seem obvious. There is a reason why I ranked this tip number 1.
It has helped me increase my winrate of 50% over the year before I implemented it.
It's simple, but not many people do it.
The poker tip: You should play more when the game is good (e.g. You should play more on weekends (e.g. mid-week).
It might sound obvious, but you may think it is a stupid tip. How often would you ever consider how amazing the games are, before you start playing them?
Most players will jump online on Wednesday nights when all the fish are asleep. This is because they love to play and not because of how profitable it will be.
I did some analysis, and I concluded that I should ban myself completely from poker on Wednesday and/or Thursday.
Why? Because it was better to be on the couch watching Netflix than grinding.
It was also apparent that weekends were my most profitable days, which seems obvious.
My winrate increased by over 50% as a result of this small change.

#2: Take notes on your opponent
Poker is a war for information. The more information you can gather about your opponent, the more likely it is that you will come out on top.
You can start to pay attention to your opponent's tendencies, and keep a record of any possible future threats.
This could be his demeanour in bluffing or the confidence he displays when holding a monster-sized hand.
Even if your notepad is not required for live gaming, it's a good idea to keep a'mental record' of what you're thinking about. You can also use the notes function on your phone when you're done.
#3 Slowplay for The Right Reasons
There is a time for slowplaying in poker. However, it is not appropriate when you are playing against loose aggressive opponents.
Another common mistake made by newbies is to slow-play weak hands postflop. However, raising your opponents' bet when you have a set is a bad idea.
Pokernews.com has the details.
SunTzuPoker.com takes a look at a slow-playing example. What's more, it shows how slow playing is not the same as bluffing.
#4 Register for Poker Training Website
It is a simple tip to play poker: Find a website that provides training for the type of game you are most interested in.
Upswing Poker Lab is my favourite piece of training. This course is taught by Doug Polk, a poker pro. You will learn the basics of cash games MTTs and poker. This will make you a more competent player in any texas holdem game.
Here's my review of the upswing Poker Lab.
While training sites may not be free, they can often be well worth the investment. Would you rather spend a year learning skills by yourself than learn them in a series or course?
